Who’s got the thinnest notebooks (ultrabook) in town?

Asus Philippines is set to launch the Asus Zenbook (the UX21/UX31 ultrabook) tomorrow at El Nido, Palawan and we’ll be there to cover it. You’ve probably read our latest review of the Acer Aspire S3 here as well. But the question remains — who has the thinnest ultrabook in town?

Here’s a simple chart we got from The Verge showing the relative thin-ness (or thickness) of 6 of the contenders.

Of the lot, the Macbook Air 13 and the Asus Zenbook UX31 seems to have the most identical profile, starting off with a very thin 0.11″ going up to 0.71″.

Surprisingly, it’s the Samsung Series 9 that’s actually the thinnest of them all, topping at just 0.64″ at its thickest point.

  1. I think MBA still wins :) now I’m wondering how ultraportables will look like in mid 2012

    • Ultraportables will be as thin as sheets of paper in 2012 and they will have flexible screens making the entire unit flexible as well.

  2. but the airflow of the circuit inside the notebook is another issue for size does matter.

  3. The launching area is one of the places where I always wanted to go back-El Nido, Palawan, it’s a paradise place for me…:)
