Monster Clarity HD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker

Listen to article

I’ve got my own set of portable/traveling speakers from Razer, XMini and DVoom but this one I saw from Monster is also cool. Anton brought this one during our Coron vacation with our SEO rockstars/guests earlier this week.

Aside from the fact that the speakers’ sound quality is pretty impressive with its big loud bass, crisp & clear music playback, the Monster Clarity HD is also a speaker phone.

Yup, pair the speakers to your mobile phone and receive phone calls thru it. I am told this works well inside the car too.

That’s what that phone button is for.

It’s relatively small, lightweight and portable. Connects to your music player, tablet or phone via Bluetooth 2.0 or use a 3.5mm jack to connect your device from the back.

Monster ClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth Speaker 100
Bluetooth v2.0 includes profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for wireless music streaming
Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) for wireless audio and video playback control
Hands-free Audio (HFP) and Headset Profiles (HSP) for hands-free calling
Range up to 33 FT (10 M)

The speakers last for about 5 hours on a single full charge. Our boat was stranded near Black Island for several hours after scuba diving and the speakers held its cool entertaining us while waiting for the extra engine batteries to arrive.

The device isn’t available locally and was ordered thru Amazon (the listing also says it’s out of stock). It doesn’t come cheap either — started off at $119 but was bought at around $100 and shipped thru Johnny Air for under Php1k.

I’m no audiophile, but having owned 2 bluetooth stereo headsets and 1 bluetooth speaker in the past, iba pa in ang sound clarity ng wired speakers as compared to bluetooth ones. This, for me, is the biggest drawback. For anyone who is interested in buying this, I strongly suggest you try it out first and compare.

Abe, I think I saw one of these in Power Mac Center in Trinoma. Karen Davila was being demo-ed the speaker against an X-mini. Cost around 7k-ish.
