Xiaomi Mi 5 beats the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in image stabilization

Xiaomi has officially unveiled their latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 5. Aside from the killer specs and premium build, it also boasts a 16MP camera with 4-axis image stabilization. And based on their tests, it performed better than Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S plus.

During the announcement, Hugo Barra explained that the Xiaomi Mi 5 features 4-axis optical image stabilization which consists of Latitudinal + Longitudinal image stabilization to reduce shakes in close shots, and Transversal image stabilization to correct movement in far shots. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes in three variants starting with a 3GB RAM / 32GB storage base model, up to 4GB RAM / 128GB storage Mi 5 Pro. It will arrive in China in March. Local availability is yet to be announced.

When it’s the iPhone 6s’ and iPhone 6 Plus’ OIS they are comparing to, that’s not really a big achievement, lol. Plus “based on their tests”??? C’mon…
