Exclusive: We got the retail price of the Zenfone 3

We’ve finally gotten the suggested retail price of the Asus Zenfone 3 which will be launched in the Philippines tomorrow.

So far we know that there will be two variants of the Zenfone 3 that will be released — the 5.2-inch and the 5.5-inch, with most of the internal hardware almost the same. The differentiation would be mostly on the amount of RAM and internal storage.

The 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage will be priced at Php16,995 while the 5.5-inch equivalent with the same 4GB/64GB combo will sell for Php18,995. The bundle will also come with freebies like the ZenPower.

There’s no indication that a cheaper 5.2-inch ZF3 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will be offered. Perhaps those price points are reserved for the Zenfone 3 Laser and Zenfone 3 Max.

Watch out for our live coverage tomorrow during the Zenfone 3 Philippine launch. In the meantime, you can read our full review here.

  1. more likely a rumor… or perhaps a ‘leaked inside info’ from asus marketing to yugatech…

exclusive in tv media includes direct quote from involved party. since yugatech deals with tech news, claims of ‘exclusive’ must be substantiated by: at least say if it is direct from asus marketing or direct from one of asus authorized resellers in the philippines.

    • **This is not a response to the comment above.**

Bad idea ASUS. Sayang kayo.

    • Sorry, we forgot to add that info we got was from an Authorized Reseller. We also posted the news confirming these prices yesterday.

  2. ayy.. mag oneplus3 nlang aq, akala q 15k lang to..

  3. Wow, already at Samsung prices, a5 and a7 respectively. Was hoping around 14k for the 5.2 and 16k for the 5.5k. Will the telcos offer this on their postpaid plans?

    • Wow already at Samsung prices for much better internals.

    • I’d rather go with Samsung than Asus at that price point. Better internals do not necessarily mean more reliable product judging from the number of complaints I’ve read about Asus. And the software support from Samsung (at least for their newer mid and high-end devices) is still better than Asus.

  4. I think it justifies its claim for the price. The bad thing is that it won’t sell that much, well, I think. There are a lot of competitions in that price range. And Asus target market before wouldn’t bite an almost 300% of the 1st generation’s price.

  5. Disappointing. At that price most buyers will opt for the top brands. I’d rather get an S6 or a Z5 or an Iphone SE. Was hoping the 5.2 4GB will be at 14-15K and the 5.2 3GB will be at 12-13K

    • and all this after waiting 3 months since the product announcement?

      bummer.

    • The prices you have mentioned actually matches the product’s price, but only for Taiwan. Though it really disappointed us because they made it seemed like the price is Final for all countries.

    • @ jib , Zenfone 3 entry level in taiwain is about 11,500 pesos.

  6. Possible Yugatech got this information from Asus SM North EDSA Shop., they posted the pre order price on thr fb page , i just hope that this is not the final price as if you will compare to last pricing , laki ng increase, Comparing taiwan – ph price.

** they update thr post too and remove the pre order price

  7. Hinype lang ang mga tao, goodluck. Mukhang maigi pa mag P9 lite or J7(6), Xiaomi Mi Max or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.

  8. Biglang naging good deal ang Vivo V3Max. Tandaan, SD625 lang tong mga ZF3 na to.

  10. If the price is true, it’s better way to invest Vivo V3max, xioami Mi Max, …. Goodluck! Sa mga ppunta bukas, i should expected na
14-15k lang ito…… Pinatagal lang nila taz ganyan ang presyo…… Biglan taas ang Asus Zenfone prices

  11. Nope. I was planning on getting this for my brother… but at that price, I’d rather get a Samsung A7. Sorry Asus, you should have priced it under 15k. -.-

Xiaomi MI Max 64gb/4gb, Xiaomi Mi 5, add ka pa kaunti Oneplus 3, they are even selling previous flagships na mas bang pa, Xperia Z5, Note 4, S6 and S6 edge. And for that price bat hangang ngayon ASUS di nyo malagyan ng LED yun jusme!

  12. Magkano official price ng Lenovo Vibe X3? Almost the same specs ng Zenfone 3.

Sa widgetcity, 13K ang 16GB/3GB version (Snapdragon 808, NFC) tapos last December pa narelease!

  13. Everyone got excited because of the base model’s suggested 250 dollar price in Taiwan. Even if you add 1-2K for taxes and shipment costs the base model should only cost somewhere around 12-13.5K. With the 5.2 inch 4GB version costing 17K, we should expect the 5.2 inch 3GB version to be sold at around 15K.

    PASS!

    • Last year with Zenfone 2 4GB RAM (ZE551ML) cost around 290$ in Taiwan and here Ph it was priced around 13,995. And even other Pinoy Tech Blogger they’re expecting that the base model will going to cost around 11-13k. Im not sure why Yugatech took this price seriously coz the price they’re posting is higher than Widget City.

    • Asus is including a lot of freebies on this, including the Zenpower.

  14. Akala siguro nila tatangkilikin mga unit nila same as old days parang hindi nila alam na may ka compete sila

  15. chill guys… di pa naman final ang pricing nila eh… remember di galing sa asus mismo ang leak ng pricing…. so better wait for tomorrow, malay nyo may surprise si asus satin…..

  16. Price seems to be inline with Malaysia’s pricing, we are a few hundreds cheaper (note: Malaysia’s tax rate of 6% vs our country’s 12% = duty is zero for both countries). Kind of disappointing if you are expecting super cheap bang-for-the-buck that Zenfone 1 launched with, that was made possible by Intel chips that were probably subsidized by Intel.

Now that it switched to Qualcomm, the price advantage is no longer there, unless they priced it at a loss or breakeven like what Xiaomi is probably doing with the Mi Max, Those companies (ie Xiaomi) can sell at a loss or at cost, because they raised billions in IPOs or through venture capital infusion.

Of course, at that price, they shouldn’t expect to sell in quantities like before, maybe their Selfie and Max will carry the day, but at 17-20k, they got plenty of competition. And that not counting the Deluxe and Ultra version which will have to contend with Samsung’s S7 and A9 Pro. Between Samsung and Asus, we – Filipinos will most probably choose Samsung.

Another reason why Asus can’t priced it cheaper is probably because, they don’t sell it direct to consumers. Asus to local distributor to wholesaler to retailer… that’s four layers, if each makes only 500 (highly unlikely given that most stores here sell at SRP (almost like oligopoly pricing)), then that’s 2,000 just for markups.

  17. Widgetcity prices are SUPPOSEDLY lower dahil service warranty lang ang meron sila and no official warranty. If you compare their prices sa official stores and distributors masmababa talaga ang widgetcity ng 1-2k or even higher.
