Every week or so, I get an email or two from strangers asking me to link to their blog or website. Half the time, I find their blogs interesting and I would do a post and round them up for some link loving.
But don’t always expect that I would just put up a link because you emailed me with a one-liner. Unless you’re a friend, a client, or you have some interesting site or put out some neat link bait technique to catch my attention, don’t expect a reply or a link (much more if your blog is just one-page old).
There are many ways to get noticed — leave a comment, shoot a trackback/ping, introduce yourself really nice and tell me a good story about why you badly needed the link juice. There’s also such a thing as buying links (aff). It would be unfair to clients who buy links from me only to discover that I actually give them out for free to anonymous people. Others resort to running a contest where success is measured by how much prize you give way.
Should you still need to get even a trickle of traffic into your new blog, check out PinoyBlog.com and fire away. Just don’t abuse the free service.
