Apple on Tuesday has introduced newest version of iMovie packing features for easier video editing on the iPhone and iPad.
Storyboards
‘Storyboards’ as the name suggests are pre-made templates based on variety of popular video types such as cooking tutorials, Q&As, product reviews, news reports, and the likes.
Each storyboard comprises a shot list to organize clips for a specific narrative.
Each placeholder includes an illustrative thumbnail, with tips that either asks a question or suggests on how to shoot certain clips to make them more interesting.
For added customization, users may add, reorder, and delete shots or clips from a storyboard as needed.
As of now, there are 20 different storyboard types to choose from.
Magic Movie
Apple describes this feature as a tool for creating custom videos complete with titles, transitions, and music within just a few taps.
Users may select an album or any group of photos or videos from their library and ‘Magic Movie’ identifies the best parts from the raw files to create an entire project.
Of course, users may reorganize clips on the simplified Magic Movie shot list and may edit the project even further.
There are also ‘styles’ or overall theme that can be applied to change up the look and feel of the entire video project.
iMovie 3.0 with Storyboards and Magic Movie features is now available as a free update on the App Store for devices running Ios 15.2 or later and iPadOS 15.2 or later.
