Google’s voice command software, dubbed Google Assistant, is getting smarter and smarter each day. With each passing update, the tech giant adds in quirky yet surprisingly fun options to tinker with. Just a few days ago, the company added a few more features to Google Assistant.
With the new update, you are now given the option of setting their alarm to whatever tune or sound they wish it to be. All they have to do is say “Hey Google, set an alarm for 6 AM that plays [insert favorite musician, song, playlist, etc. here]” and the Assistant will do the rest. Apart from the alarm feature, Google is also adding new options for you to stay updated with their favorite TV shows.
By simply saying “Hey Google, what channel airs [insert TV show here]” or “Hey, Google, when does [insert TV show here] air next” the Assistant can keep tabs on the schedule of your favorite shows. Not only that, but you can also set a reminder for the Assistant by saying “Hey Google, remind me to watch [Insert TV show here] every [insert schedule here] at [insert time slot here]” and even easily tune in by saying “Hey Google, watch [Insert TV show here]”.
Google has also reportedly been working closely with Netflix to improve your casting experience. You can now easily control Netflix by voice after linking your Netflix account to the Google Home app. Lastly, Google has added Play Music support to the Assistant. So, playing your tunes and playlists are now hands-free.
Of course, all of this can only be accomplished if you’re using Assistant supported gadgets such as Google Home, Google Home Max or other smart speakers and devices.
