Jellybean update for SGS2 now official

After all the custom/unofficial ROMs and the fuss about the handset not getting the Jellybean update because of its hardware configuration, the long wait is finally over as Samsung brings the highly anticipated upgrade to their ex-flagship smartphone.

SGS2

The roll out started in Spain with other regions pledged to follow soon afterwards. Unlike the ICS update, this one brings significant difference to the ageing handset and brings it at par with its younger siblings (in the OS standpoint at least). Details of the update can be found here.

Local roll-out date remains a mystery until now, but we’ll update this post once we get news about it. For the time being, it’s best if you check your phone for the said update once in a while and maybe tip us once you have it.

  2. How about the SAMSUNG ACE PLUS?? the say that the samsung ace plus will get the jelly bean update to. is there any news when is the official date release of the update?? thank you

  3. This is why i wont buy a samsung device again, look at how long it took! And samsung still hasnt released the source , it really kills the opensource community

  7. Awww… I just sold my phone online last week because I was bored waiting for this jelly bean update. :'(
I bought instead a Cherry Mobile Flare and a Nexus 7 with the money and… I’m happy with the decision. :)

  8. Nauna pa dito Optimus 2x pero up to now nasa gingerbread pa din pero s2 nasa jelibean na eh pareho lng sila ng spec.

  9. The update of sII to Jellybean is fast compared to other phones. Mabagal lang talaga and philippine/regional counterpart. I already upgraded to spain’s firmware and mukhang maganda naman.
Regarding the battery, you wouldn’t really know the effect yet until after maybe 3 to 4 cycles.
