Facebook has announced a milestone for its Lite app as it reaches 100 million monthly active users counting the Philippines as one its top users along with Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Mexico.
Facebook Lite was introduced back in June 2015 and has been around for nine months, but it’s already the fastest-growing version of Facebook. It now supports 56 languages in more than 150 countries around the globe with new features to celebrate the event including support for video, multiple photo uploads, pinch-to-zoom for photos, emoji, and more.
The goal of the app is to give access to people using an older phone or slower connection. Perfect for at times when reception only maxes out with 2G speeds or when your provider throttles your connection. You may download the Facebook Lite for less than 1MB through the Google Play Store.
