Opensignal conducted research that compared download speed experience and upload speed experience across cities in the Asia Pacific. The research aimed to justify why mobile operators would find it difficult to charge more for the upcoming 5G services if one were to look at the current speed experience of consumers. In the data presented, Seoul's 56.3 Mbps download speed ranked number one, 41% faster than Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, and Taipei. As for Manila, it ranked at 9th with an 11.2 Mbps download speed experience, faster than Bangkok, Jakarta, and Phnom Penh. As for upload speed experience, Seoul still placed at number one with 16.6Mbps, while Manila's 3.3 Mbps ranked in between Jakarta's 3.6Mbps and Phnom Penh's 2.7Mbps.
