I was also able to play with a demo unit of the Acer Liquid last night at the PC Show and they were selling the unit for and equivalent of Php21,200 (SG$640.93) after taxes. The device responds well and feels snappy and though the Android OS is old (v1.6 Donut), Acer added a little UI improvements with a carousel-like display of media files/web pages on both ends of the 3-panel UI. Acer's famous for notebooks but their first foray into the smartphone market didn't go quite well. Now, they're back with a vengence -- the Acer Liquid is powered by a SnapDragon processor and Android OS. The Acer Liquid isn't their most powerful smartphone to date as the neoTouch that came out earlier had a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1GHz CPU running Windows Mobile 6.5. I think they got the Acer DX650 locally but haven't bumped into one of the units ever. The Acer Liquid was announced November of 2009 and released last December but has yet to reach the Philippines. We're not really sure if Acer Philippines will release the unit locally but it's nice to see a non-HTC smartphone running Android these days.
