Early last week we showed you the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra which is currently the world’s slimmest smartphone at 6.45mm. One feature we liked is the LED notification which is rare for phones in its price range, right now we give Alcatel a pretty good impression with their overall execution with the One touch Idol. Without the iPhone, we would not have seen the likes of Samsung Instinct, Omnia i900, HTC Touch Diamond, LG Dare and Sony-Ericsson Xperia this early. I had 4 most likely candidates as a great iPhone alternative -- the HTC Touch Diamond, Nokia N96, Samsung i900 Omnia and the Sony-Ericsson Xperia.
