Apple is set to finally embrace OLED displays for its MacBook Pro lineup, but the wait may continue for a couple of years. Per Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, Apple purportedly encouraged its suppliers to scale up investments toward OLED displays designed for laptops. The firm also claims that Apple eyes to utilize OLED panels for its MacBooks between 2026 and 2027. To recall, the current generation of MacBook Pros use mini-LED panels. While the OLED-powered MacBook Pro is still a few years away, Apple is expected to continue refining its current lineup with incremental updates. Next year's models are rumored to feature the next-generation Apple M5 chips, but a major redesign is unlikely until the OLED transition. It was bound to happen but we're still very surprised that Apple made a budget Macbook.
