DITO Telecommunity once again proved its strength in the local telecom scene after being recognized as the Philippines’ best mobile network for the fourth time in a row by Ookla Speedtest Intelligence. Ookla: Smart is Philippines’ fastest and best mobile network Ookla, the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, has recognized Smart as the fastest mobile network in the Philippines for Q1 2023. This is in addition to Smart's back-to-back recognition as the Best Mobile Network for Q1-Q2 2022 and Q3-Q4 2022, making it the first Filipino mobile operator to win both the Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Coverage awards within the same reporting periods of the firm. Smart Communications has received the Best Mobile Video Experience award from Ookla, recognizing the company’s performance in mobile video streaming. The recognition comes alongside Smart’s earlier citation for Best Mobile Latency in the Philippines, also awarded by Ookla. Smart said the award highlights ongoing investments in network infrastructure aimed at supporting increasing demand for video streaming and other real-time mobile applications. The Philippines remains among the slowest countries in transitioning away from 3G networks, with most mobile users still relying on older devices that do not support newer voice technologies.
