The Senate has recently approved the bill that seeks to prohibit hoax orders and protect delivery riders and drivers from fake bookings and canceled deliveries. The Senate Bill (SB) 2302, also known as An Act Providing Measures to Protect Individuals Engaged in Food, Grocery, and Pharmacy Delivery Services, was approved during the third and final reading with 23 affirmative votes. Under the measure, delivery service providers will be required to shoulder the cost of the bill in case of hoax orders. The bill also seeks to protect the general public from fake delivery bookings by making it a criminal act. In addition, the licenses and permits of said violators shall also be revoked.  The said bill was authored by Senators Koko Pimentel, Lito Lapid, Joel Villanueva and Migz Zubiri. The Senate has just approved a bill that extends the Smart Communications franchise by another 25 years. The bill seeks to ban motor vehicles, motorcycles, motorbikes, scooters, and tricycles (public or private) to use any form of modified mufflers, sound boosters, or any device which will increase the sound output higher than seventy decibels. The only exception to this bill are vehicles for motor shows or professional racing.
