The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) finally moves closer to their goal of providing a reliable electronic retail payments system in the Philippines with the recent launch of InstaPay. InstaPay became active last April 23, it followed BSP's first ACH called PESOnet, launched back in November 2017. InstaPay is open 24/7 and is accessible through mobile apps and the internet banking facilities of participating banks and e-money issuers, other e-channels will follow suit. At the time of activation, there are 20 InstaPay participating institutions. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is taking a stand against slow refunds and unfair fees for failed PESONet and InstaPay transactions. As outlined in the recently approved new guidelines (BSP Circular No. 1195), InstaPay (or instant retail payments) refunds must be credited back to their account within just one (1) hour. The BSP is also eliminating fees for failed transactions. Read more in our articles including "BSP launches InstaPay" and "BSP speeds up refunds from failed InstaPay, PESONet transactions".
