ColorOS

Starting with select 2023 flagships, OPPO committed to providing four major Android updates and five years of security patches. Previously, the policy guaranteed three major updates for the Find X Series, two for the Reno and some A-Series, and one for low-memory A-series models, alongside multi-year security patches.

Recent updates have introduced AI-powered camera features like AI Perfect Shot for swapping expressions and AI Group Photo Composer for adding missing people, inspired by Google Pixel. ColorOS 16 introduced a 'Luminous Design' with new app icons, lighting effects, flexible folder resizing, and more Always-On Display options including seamless, classic, and full-screen modes.

ColorOS and OxygenOS are developed on the same codebase to allow for faster updates and better build quality, but they remain independent brand properties. This decision was made after community feedback, ditching earlier plans for a fully 'unified OS'. OnePlus phones in China run ColorOS, while global models run OxygenOS.
