Corning has unveiled the newest glass protection for affordable smartphones: the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. According to Corning, the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is made to cater to budget-friendly smartphones. It is said that the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i has handled up to one meter drops on surfaces similar to asphalt. The company also stated that the Gorilla Glass 7i is twice more scratch resistant than other lithium aluminosilicate cover glasses. There is no official announcement on what device will have the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i equipped. Corning extends its glass technology to the PC market with the announcement of the Gorilla Glass NBT - the company's latest cover glass designed to help protect touch-enabled notebook displays from scratches and other forms of damage that come from everyday handling and use. In fact, for just 1 to 2 percent of a notebook’s retail price, consumers can now get the best cover glass solution: a Gorilla solution. Meanwhile, Dell has also announced that it will be using the Gorilla Glass NBT on its newest products.
