With the rising popularity of dual, and even quad camera setups, as well as large screen and bezel-less designs, these new sensors will allow for enhanced camera features on smartphones, without a camera bump, as Samsung claims. The ISOCELL Fast 2L9 is a 1.28-micrometer 12MP sensor with dual pixel technology that delivers fast auto-focus, even in low light environments. This may sound the same as the previous dual pixel sensor, but that one had a pixel size of 1.4-micrometers. The reduced pixel size of 1.28-micrometers on the 2L9 will essentially make it easier to pack a high-quality dual pixel camera module in slimmer devices that will be devoid of any camera bump. On the other hand, the ISOCELL Slim 2X7 is a 0.9-micrometer 24MP sensor that features Tetracell technology, which merges pixels together as one to increase sensitivity in low light, and uses a re-mosaic algorithm to make for more detailed photos in brighter environments. The 2X7 with its pixel size of only 0.9-micrometer is the first in the industry below 1-micrometer. Going to the top, the Dual SIM card tray slot sits along with the noise-canceling microphone pinhole. Also, the Quad HD resolution at 2560 x 1440 pixels gives you a crisp 576ppi on the 5.1-inch panel.
