I have two WiFi routers/access points in my 2-story apartment so I can switch between the two anytime one of them goes down. The distributor sent me a 2 demo units to test out and it's called the Edimax 200Mbps PowerLine Adapter with 150Mbps Wireless Access Point (yes, a mouthful). The first one, you plug into the wall socket and hook it up to your DSL router. Internet connectivity will flow from your DSL router to the first device, then to the powerlines going to the second device. Here's another 3G broadband router sent in for review -- the Edimax 802.11b/g 3G Router. It's like your regular DSL router with additional USB ports to hook in a 3G modem and also acts as a Printer server. If you have a regular DSL at home hooked up to a wireless router, you can use your SmartBro, Globe Visibility or Sun Wireless Broadband as alternative source of internet connection when the DSL goes down. The United States has moved to tighten control over internet infrastructure by banning new foreign-made consumer routers, citing growing cybersecurity and national security risks.
