However, HarmonyOS still closely resembles its predecessor, EMUI—Huawei’s prior Android skin. EMUI (until the 9th version) supported Google Services, but apparently, Huawei had contingency plan already laid out as they aggregate their own core services (which is now called HMS) to their Android skin. Even before the so-called “export ban,” AppGallery and other Huawei core apps are already existing within EMUI. And expectations are set for HarmonyOS to establish its own unique identity over EMUI. Huawei has launched its beta test registration for interested users who want to get a first look at the company's upcoming EMUI 10 update. As Huawei started rolling out its EMUI 9.1, the company recently announced that a stable version will come to various Huawei and Honor smartphones in the near future.
