GCash has announced that it has barred over 900,000 accounts suspected of fraud from January to March this year. GCash is currently working closely with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in preventing online scams and fraudsters, as well as apprehending any guilty party that conducts illegal activities using GCash. Furthermore, GCash is in strict compliance with the guidance of the Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas and the Anti-Money Laundering Council in order to ensure customer safety and security. GCash as well reinforced its #GCheckMuna campaign, to ensure that users don't fall victim to scams by being vigilant in protecting their accounts.  Some tips by Gcash's GCheck include the following: Tip 1: Never share your MPIN or one-time password (OTP). Scammers often pose as a GCash representative or a friend to trick you into giving your OTP. Tip 2: Only do GCash-related activity inside the app. When asked to verify or log-in, only do so on the GCash app.  Tip 3: Be careful who you transact with. Tip 4: Only go to official GCash channels.
