Globe is set to announce that they will be offering Starlink's Direct to Cell service in the Philippines. Starlink’s Direct to Cell is a satellite-based mobile service that lets ordinary LTE phones connect directly to Starlink satellites, so you get coverage in places with no cell towers. As the first mobile operator in the Philippines to market Starlink’s Direct to Cell (DTC) service, Globe is leveraging space-based technology to reach the most geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas of our archipelago. Starlink has over 650+ satellites in order, each one acts like a floating 4G/LTE cell tower in space (it has an eNodeB modem onboard).
