Globe recently announced that they have expanded their LTE coverage in Q1 2018 with 934 new sites nationwide. According to Globe, they have put up additional 934 LTE sites using the 700MHz, 2600 MHz and 1800 MHz frequencies in the first quarter of the year including Jolo, Tawi-Tawi, and Batanes. In addition, Globe has also deployed 200 Massive MIMO sites using the 2600MHz band. Globe Telecoms, in partnership with Roku, has announced a new Streamwatch device to be rolled out soon in the Philippines. The Globe streamwatch device is said to roll out in November of this year. In an attempt to boost and improve mobile and wireless broadband internet experience for its users, Globe has rolled out the commercial deployment of MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) technologies in populated areas around the metro. According to Globe, the technology also increases wireless throughput which accommodates more users at higher data rates and offers better reliability and consumes less power. Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Governance, Network Technical Group adds that this move makes use of the 2600MHz frequency.
