Google Maps is getting a major upgrade with Gemini AI integration. Beyond navigation, Lens in Maps now lets users point their phone camera at places to identify landmarks or shops and ask Gemini questions about them. There’s now a new “Know Before You Go” section that uses Google’s Gemini AI to show useful tips. Gemini 3 Pro uses a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) design built on the Transformer architecture and was trained fully on Google TPUs, which makes its performance even more impressive. Gemini 3 Pro is now rolling out in the Gemini app and in AI Mode on Google Search for Pro and Ultra users. Gemini 2.5 Computer Use is now in public preview via Google AI Studio and Vertex AI.
