In order to identify programs that use excessive amounts of battery life, Google has implemented a new method in the Google Play Store. Apps that exceed the limit may receive Play Store listing warnings or experience reduced visibility in recommendations and search results. Google’s latest AI upgrade just landed on the Play Store, and it’s about to make app shopping a lot easier. Interestingly, Apple beat Google to the punch earlier this year, adding a similar AI review feature to the App Store back in April. Google is setting up for mass app deletion on the Play Store by August 31, 2024. The initiative is part of Google’s roadmap to align the Android app ecosystem with Apple’s App store framework. With this, the incoming policy changes are set to rid the Play Store of millions of low-quality apps. These make for tighter security measures across all apps on the Play Store.
