The Google Chromecast line is going to be discontinued. In a recent post, Google said that they’re ending production for the device after over a decade. Google said that they’re moving on to push software and security updates to their newer devices. The most recent update to the Chromecast with Google TV was released two years ago. With that, Google notes how “technology has evolved dramatically” since the Chromecast launched in 2013. Google said they’re working on adding capabilities to Smart TVs built on top of Chromecast technology. In line with this announcement, Google is slated to offer the new Google TV Streamer. There was some sort of mass panic last night when Google was spewing a warning "this site may harm your computer" on all their search results.
