So one of the most anticipated stuff I had to check out when I arrived here in Japan is their broadband internet speeds. Sun Cellular Wireless Broadband has upgraded its network to 3.5G (HSDPA) and dropped its unlimited monthly subscription fees to Sun subscribers. Existing Sun Postpaid Subscribers can also avail of the Wireless Broadband plan for an additional Php649 on their MSF. “In solidarity with the government’s call for energy conservation, Globe AT HOME is committed to making the remote work and education experience as seamless as possible,” said Abigail Cardino, Vice President and Head of Brand Management for Broadband Business at Globe. The partnership officially began commercial operations in the second quarter of 2025, with PLDT Enterprise becoming the first — and currently the only — Philippine telco partner to offer enterprise broadband services in the country. By the first quarter of 2026 alone, PLDT Enterprise had already deployed nearly 1,000 Starlink broadband units to corporations, government institutions, logistics operators, energy companies, financial institutions, retail businesses, and organizations operating in geographically isolated and disaster-prone locations.
