Finnish smartphone maker Jolla is making a comeback with the upcoming new-generation Jolla Phone, bringing fresh hardware and its privacy-first Sailfish OS 5. Remember Jolla, a start-up company by former Nokia and MeeGo employees which released their own smartphone? They now have a second version dubbed as the Jolla C. The new smartphone from Jolla is part of the new Sailfish Community Device Program made for developers who will then get exclusive access to live community talks, events, and to the new phone which will have 1000 units only. The Jolla C is expected to ship in by July 2016. Jolla has just announced that its Sailfish OS will soon be available for download for select devices running Google's Android OS. Sailfish OS is the Finnish company's software for its Jolla smartphone which has the capability to support both native Sailfish OS apps as well as Android apps. Jolla will soon make Sailfish OS available as a downloadable software to select devices running Android.
