True to their words, LG Philippines launched today the cheapest fully touchscreen phone in the Philippines - the LG KP500 or the LG Cookie. Yes, they sacrificed 3G and WiFi connectivity just to be able to get the LG Cookie to that price. A lot of people are asking which of these two entry-level touchscreen phones is better -- the new Samsung S5233 Star or the older LG Cookie KP500 -- and I'd say they are just brothers from a different mother. Of course, the LG Cookie got beaten in the charts by the Samsung Star with a minuscule difference in internal memory, VGA recording and battery rating. The LG Cookie is about 500 bucks cheaper though. Banking on the popularity of touchscreen devices and marketing it to folks with a limited budget, LG is poised to grab a segment that might just bite the cookie. Make and Construction The LG Cookie is surprisingly thin and light, maybe because it's made up of lightweight plastic all over (yet, doesn’t look cheap or ugly). Plain and Simple The LG Cookie doesn’t pack enough features that would attract those who want good wireless connectivity on their phone.
