Coincidentally, the folks from Adam Elements sent us an mDrive adapter for the Air. The Adam mDrive is basically an adapter for a Macbook Air and Macbook Pro to expand external storage via the SD card slot. The mDrive merely makes this process seamless by creating a cradle that fits into the slot perfectly -- nothing protruding, whatsoever. There are different mDrives for different models and iteration of the Macbook. That means an mDrive might work for a late 2013 Macbook Air but not on a 2014 Macbook Air (a table for model compatibility can be found here). The mDrive is just an adapter so you'll have to buy a microSD card separately.
