Xiaomi has decided to remove background video playback in a HyperOS update (MIUI 15). Background video playback has been a thoughtful feature since MIUI 12. But now, the video toolbox UI will not offer this option for playback with the screen off in HyperOS (MIUI 15). It’s also important to note that Xiaomi is moving towards China-exclusive MIUI software, with other countries provided with HyperOS. However, MIUI 12, MIUI 13, MIUI 14 and HyperOS users may also refrain from updating their software to avoid the feature being disabled. Besides that, it has more to offer, including a 5,000mAh battery and MIUI 12 out of the box. Powering this entry-level phone is the latest MediaTek Helio G25 chip with a PowerVR8320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support, and MIUI 12 that’s based on Android 10 for software. MIUI 12, Xiaomi's latest operating system based on Android, is reported to add an AI Shutter feature.
