Now here's a pleasant surprise from Nikon, the first waterproof mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) is showcased here at the CES floor. It's got the same features as the Nikon 1 J3 but with additional rugged features. The Nikon 1 AW1 is sold for $799.95 with the 11-27.5mm kit lens. Nikon has recently added another camera to its 1-series lineup, the AW1. Specs-wise, the AW1 offers the same feature set of the non-rugged Nikon 1 J3; a 14MP CX-format CMOS sensor, an EXPEED 3A image sensor and 135-point contrast-detect AF areas plus 73-point phase-detect AF areas. In addition to this, Nikon has also added other features that would definitely come in handy for outdoor shoots. The Nikon 1 AW1 is available in three color variants (Black, White and Silver) and will retail for USD800 when it hit the shelves starting next month. Nikon introduced a new entry-level dSLR, the Nikon D3100, which has the capability of recording full HD 1080p videos.
