Nikon introduced a new entry-level dSLR, the Nikon D3100, which has the capability of recording full HD 1080p videos.

The Nikon D3100 is the successor to the popular D3000 line and brings in a set of new features and upgrades.

The estimated $USD699 price tag seemed reasonable and it might catch up with Canon’s EOS 550D in the HD video department. The Nikon D3100 will come with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR as the kit lens.

Got mine sa Henrys sa Glorieta 5 3rd floor for 26,500. Comes with 4gig sd, tripod but hindi na kami nakaabot sa promo with free enovation bag.

kakabili ko lang ng d3100 ko kay mayer kay mang ramong. bili ko 27k freebies 4gb sdhc, bag. ok aftersales nila. pag uwi ko sa bahay di ko napansin na may black spot na dumi sa loob ng view finder. binalik ko after 2 days kasi di ko nabalik nun kinabukasan kasi busy ako. pagbalik ko check nila item then after makita problema pinalitan agad nila brand new d3100 ko. tapos bumili na rin me cleaning kit binigyan agad ako ni mang ramon discount. as far as i know si henrys pinakmababa price 26.5k sa hidalgo pero interms sa aftersales di ko pa sila nasusubukan. kay mang ramon naka indicate sa resibo 1 yr service warranty saka 6 months parts warranty. ok na rin. kay avenue photo pala 27.5k freebies tablepod, 4gb sdhc, cleaning cloth saka card reader.

@iq50 – depende po sir kung cdsc unit bibilhin mo medyo mahal ang price nya di tulad ng grey unit na less 4k sa cdsc unit price. yun standard warrantry ng cdsc ng nikon is 2 yrs lang talaga kapag grey unit bibilhin mo bale store warranty lang kaya kapag nasira within the 7days replacement warranty papalitan nila yun ng bago kapag sira sya. pero kapag after 7days replacement warranty natapos na ayun free lang ang labor pero yun parts babayaran mo medyo pricey parts ng dslr. if i wer u kung may pera ka naman pang bili ng with cdsc warranty yun na lang bilhin mo wala ka pang iintindihin sa warranty. hope helps…

@fatboi: The store’s name is Mayers. it’s located at hidalgo, quiapo. just walk along the stretch of that street and you will the find it. Ingat lang ah medyo crowded ang street na yon.

where can i possibly buy it . i am planning to buy this cam at least before i leave going to Greece but my problem is i don’t know where to find it . i asked in some automatic centre branches and kodak stores , no d3100 . all they tell me is that , this model is new and not yet arriving in Phil. , so is it true ? so i will have more time buying online perhaps :( help me pls. !

I agree with Teknisyan, would still prefer the Nikon D5000 over the new D3100 due to:

4fps continuous shooting (3fps only in D3100)
Active-D lighting (only On/Off in D3100)
Swivel LCD
