Nikon has announced its new point-and-shoot canera that packs a 16 megapixel sensor, built-in WiFi, a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, and runs Android 4.2.2 Jellybean - the Coolpix S810c. Tagged by Nikon as the "next generation full-featured social camera", the Coolpix S810c is the successor to the Coolpix S800c from 2 years ago and the company's second attempt at releasing an Android powered camera. Looks like Nikon is getting into the game by announcing an Android-powered point-and-shoot camera (and calls it the Nikon Coolpix S800c). This 16-megapixel shooter runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and record up to 1080p full HD videos into its 4GB internal storage. We just can't figure out what other inherent benefits an Android system can bring to a camera. Earlier this year, Polaroid released the first Android camera so Nikon is probably the second one in this market. The Nikon Coolpix S800c will retail for $350 when its released. Nikon has just announced the new Coolpix P90 with a maximum optical zoom of 24x, one of the highest I've seen so far in compact cameras.
