Nikon has just announced the new Coolpix P90 with a maximum optical zoom of 24x, one of the highest I've seen so far in compact cameras. This super-zoom camera has a 12.1MP sensor and can shoot with a high ISO of 6400. It has a Blink Warning feature that alerts you if your subjects are blinking while focusing a shot {via Nikon USA}. Nikon did not mention how much this camera will cost once it's available to the public. Canon has a similarly-spec'ed camera announced earlier -- the Canon SX10 IS -- but it only has 20x zoom at 10MP. The Nikon ZR is now official as their first cinema camera developed in partnership with RED. The model combines Nikon’s autofocus and in-body stabilization with RED’s color science and video codecs, positioning it against cameras like the Canon C50 and Sony FX3 at a lower price point. The Nikon ZR uses a 24MP partially stacked sensor with Dual Base ISO 800/6400 and promises over 15 stops of dynamic range.
