Samsung has released a list of Galaxy devices set to receive the One UI 8 update based on Android 16. One UI 8 is slated to introduce new AI-powered features, enhanced security measures, and refreshed app designs. Google's Android 17, codenamed "Cinnamon Bun," has reached platform stability. It depends heavily on what chipset is inside your phone. Samsung started rolling out the One UI 9 beta, beginning with the Galaxy S26 series (S26, S26+, S26 Ultra) in select countries including Germany, UK, South Korea, and the US. The stable One UI 9 rollout is expected in July 2026, likely alongside the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will get Android 17 as their final major OS update, with support ending in October 2026. A massive slice of phones sold here runs on Snapdragon 4-series or Dimensity 6000-series chips.
