Rakuten Viber, a global leader in private and secure messaging and voice-based communication, will soon launch its in-app digital payments feature Viber Pay in the Philippines. Visa and GoTyme Bank have entered a multi-year partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of digital payments in the Philippines, South Africa, and future Southeast Asian markets. Both companies said the collaboration is geared toward strengthening secure, seamless, and inclusive payment systems in emerging markets where digital transactions continue to rise. Visa Philippines Country Manager Jeffrey Navarro said the partnership aligns with Visa’s efforts to promote financial inclusion and broaden digital access. The companies said the expanded partnership will focus on improving the overall digital payment ecosystem, supporting small businesses, and offering consumers more secure and convenient ways to transact locally and internationally.
