Now, Paint will begin rolling out an update that will introduce the ability to remove backgrounds. The background removal tool works similarly to Canva's background removal function on which a user can simply click to have its background removal tool detect the subject and remove the background. It's also said that users can specify an area using the rectangle select tool to have that specific area's background removed. Microsoft has removed Paint 3D from the Microsoft Store. A support note from Microsoft states, "Paint 3D is deprecated and will be removed from the Microsoft Store on November 4, 2024. Xiaomi has decided to remove background video playback in a HyperOS update (MIUI 15). After introducing the ability to remove backgrounds with a single click, the Paint app on Windows will now be getting the ability to add layers and transparency. To indicate a transparent image or background, Paint will show a checkerboard pattern on the canvas on the parts that are transparent.
