Earlier this year, AMD released its new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs at CES 2023. Meet the new AMD Ryzen Mobile 7040U series processors. Unlike the standard 7000 series chipsets, the “U” in AMD Ryzen 7040U processors stand for “ultra-low power”, and they are designed mainly for thin laptops and other ultra-portable devices. AMD says the Ryzen 7040U series mobile processors, based on the new Zen 4 architecture provide “more graphics power than ever before” and even offer better output compared to its rivals, Apple and Intel. In addition two of the chips even support Ryzen AI. AMD has just unveiled a number of products focused for mobile users, bringing the new generation of AMD Ryzen processors and Radeon GPUs to laptops. AMD announced new processors for mobile, specifically the AMD Ryzen 7045HX series and the AMD Ryzen 7040 series processors. The Ryzen 7045HX can be powered by up to 16 Zen 4 cores and 32 threads, and is built on 5nm technology and features DDR5 memory support.
