A lot of people, including us, were expecting some news about the latest Samsung tri-fold device at yesterday's Unpacked event. While we were treated to massive improvements to the Z Fold and Flip 7 lineups, there was zero mention of the tri-fold form factor. Well, we've finally got some news from Samsung themselves. Samsung Electronics President TM Roh has once again confirmed the arrival of the upcoming tri-fold Samsung device within the year. Some would argue that even regular foldables (if you can call them that) have only really hit their stride now, in terms of minimizing the compromises compared to a conventional slab phone. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is finally comparable to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, both in the form factor and camera departments. Other industry speculation suggests that this Samsung Tri-fold will only be launched in two or three markets as an experiment. Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z TriFold for pre-order in China, priced at 19,999 Yuan (~$2,830), putting it in direct competition with Huawei’s Mate XTs in the growing tri-fold smartphone market.
