Following last year's launch of Samsung's Graphics Double Data Rate 6 (GDDR6) DRAM, the company has announced its successor: the GDDR7. Samsung has noted that the GDDR7 is also 20% more power efficient than the GDDR6. “The next-generation graphics DRAM will be brought to market in line with industry demand and we plan on continuing our leadership in the space.” According to Samsung, the GDDR7 will be installed in next-generation systems of their key customers this year to verify and test the DRAM.
