Smart recently announced that it has launched its new LTE-Advanced Pocket WiFi Plans under Smart Bro, starting at PHP 699 per month. The Smart LTE-A Pocket WiFi can accommodate up to 10 devices and makes use of carrier aggregation, a feature that enables it to combine multiple signals from different cell sites for an improved data connection. Smart says that it is designed for those working from home, taking online courses, or running a small business online. According to Smart, this was achieved with the activation of the 4-component carrier (4CC) aggregation through their partner Huawei Technologies Philippines. In addition, Smart was able to achieve 400 to 500Mbps speeds via 4x4 Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) and 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) technology on a live and loaded network in Boracay, using the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and software that is available to users via a software update.
