Smart has reduced it's SmartBro Plug-It Postpaid plans to just Php999 a month of unlimited 3G internet; down from Php1,500 a month in October 2008. Update 2: SmartBro website has been updated to confirm the up to 2Mbps bandwidth. Disclosure: Smart gave me this SmartBro micro-SIM with 6 months free subscription which I can opt to continue using and pay for after the trial period. The Smart B Free event held today at the Mega-Tent, Meralco Avenue is an attempt to give-away 10 thousand free SmartBro PlugIt modems to students from UAAP and NCAA universities. SmartBro USB modems are customized according to university logos (see sample above for Ateneo's Blue Eagles). There were also promos for SmartBro ShareIt -- get a Pentium 4 PC set for only Php4,000 when you subscribe for 24 months.
