Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi are among the top three brands that dominated the smartphone market during Q1 2025. According to the latest market report from Canalys, Samsung leads with a 20% market share, shipping 60.5 million units. Chinese tech giant Xiaomi holds third place with 14% market share, shipping 41.8 million units. And vivo and OPPO round out the top five with 22.9 million and 22.7 million units, respectively, each holding 8% market share. While familiar brands continue to dominate, the overall smartphone market faces ongoing challenges. Canalys notes that smartphone brands are hopeful for a market rebound in Q2 2025, driven by reducing inventories and new product launches. Xiaomi just did something huge—it overtook Apple to become the world’s second-largest smartphone brand in August 2024!
