A new social media platform called ZOOP is set to launch globally this April. The report also showed that the effects of social media are mixed. Experts said the impact depends on how social media is used, the platform, and personal factors like gender and income. At the bottom of the list was Afghanistan, where ongoing conflict and social issues continue to affect people’s daily lives. A new bill filed in the Philippine House of Representatives seeks to ban people under 16 years old from using social media platforms. 8262, also called the “Social Media Protection for Minors Act,” which aims to set a minimum age for accessing social media. The bill also says that social media companies, not parents or users, should be responsible for enforcing the age limit.
