And while it’s still considered as the king in terms of pixel count, Sony has taken a different approach with its sensor and focused more on the performance side rather than just the megapixel count. That still holds true with the Japanese firm’s new Sony Exmor RS IMX230 – a 1/2.4-inch CMOS sensor with a stacked design and a 192-point phase detect autofocus system. According to Sony’s literature, the IMX230 has also received some improvements on how it takes HDR photos (if you’re in to that), not to mention the ability to record 4K videos at thirty (30) frames-per-second and slow-motion HD clips at 120fps.
