In an interview, PlayStation lead system architect Mark Cerny shared that Sony is working closely with AMD on this feature. The work is part of a project called Project Amethyst, a graphics technology built for PlayStation systems. Sony already has a feature called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, which uses similar ideas. Sony has not yet shared a specific release date, but the company has already started building the foundation for this upgrade.
