Sony has just unveiled a plethora of new selfie smartphones in the CES stage, and that includes the third-generation mid-range phones dubbed as the XA2 and the XA2 Plus. Following the design ethos of its predecessors sans the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner this time around, the XA2 and XA2 plus offer better hardware this time around -- Snapdragon chips, bigger battery capacities, and Android 8.0 Oreo with Sony's customizations right out of the box. Sony’s Xperia 1 VIII has surfaced in an eSIM database, hinting that the next-generation flagship is already in testing. Despite Sony’s quieter smartphone strategy in recent years, the Xperia 1 VIII seems ready to continue the brand’s legacy of creator-focused, camera-first Android flagships. While details on design and cameras remain scarce, Sony is expected to debut the Xperia 1 VIII in mid-2026, roughly following the Xperia 1 VII’s June release schedule. Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia 10 VII, a mid-range smartphone that brings notable upgrades over its predecessor while sticking to Sony’s signature compact form factor. Sony has announced its newest flagship, the Xperia 1 VII boasting several key additions including a BRAVIA display, Walkman-powered audio, and improved cameras. Battery-wise, it packs a 5000mAh unit but Sony didn’t mention its charging specs except it supports USB-PD and Qi wireless charging.
