Sony has announced its newest flagship, the Xperia 1 VII boasting several key additions including a BRAVIA display, Walkman-powered audio, and improved cameras. The 3.5mm audio jack is here to stay with the nifty upgrade of having WALKMAN-series components and premium-grade audio integrated circuit, improving its overall sound quality. The front stereo speakers have also been updated to deliver 10% more sound pressure in the low-to-mid frequency range, with components taken from Sony’s Walkman lineup. Sony has just announced two new Walkman players, the NW-ZX707 and the NW-A306, designed to bring high-quality listening experiences to audio and music enthusiasts. Both Walkmans will be available in select Sony Authorized Dealers nationwide starting February 10, 2023. Dubbed as the Sony Xperia Z4 Music, this device is a combination of a Walkman and a smartphone. Among these is the NWZ-A15 which is a handy dedicated music player that carries the classic Walkman branding. My first encounter with a Walkman device is their cassette tape player (yes, I’m a 90’s kid).
